My dell AIO A960 printer won't connect to laptop?

i have the cable plugged into the laptop and installed everything. but when i try to print, a box pops up that says, Communication not available. try these solutions-ensure power is on-it is.

disconnect and reconnect the printer's power cable-i did

disconnect and reconnect the usb cable-i did

check your firewall settings to ensure printer communication is nto blocked-i even turned it off to see if it would work.. it didnt

restart your computer-i did..

nothing worked... i even tried reinstalling it.. nothing...

any suggestions? please be simple with the instructions,, im not a computer wiz. i will get lost.
